Sandy shares over almost 30 years of experience working with mothers and babies during their pre, mid and post Lactation periods. Sandy is a fully qualified LC and is happy to make home visits to those in the great Melbourne east and south-east suburbs, with a follow up phone call and written information being inclusive to an initial consultation. Skype consultations are very popular now and you have access to me anywhere in the world.  Clinic consultations also available.

Lactation Consultants are allied health professional who possess the necessary skills, knowledge and attitudes to facilitate breastfeeding.  They offer support and specialist assistance to mothers who wish to succeed at breastfeeding, or who have problems that have not been resolved by other health professionals.

What does IBCLC mean?

An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) has passed a fully accredited examination set by the Internal Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLE). The IBCLE certification is recognised as the Gold Standard for health professionals working with breastfeeding women, and all IBCLC’s are required to adhere to IBLCE’s Code of Ethics.  Passing the IBLCE exam every 10 years, is a requirement for LCANZ and CLC-VIC membership, and both organisations members are also bounded by their own Standard of Practices.
